Sallah is the season for giving back. It is the period when we are most encouraged to give back to our community, especially to the less privileged. As a Group that takes corporate social responsibility ethos to her hearts, we celebrated the Id El Kabir festivity with our Muslim brothers and sisters by paying a courtesy visit and donating to the children of Bab Es Salam Home located at number 14, Joel Ogunnaike Street, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos.
Receiving the SA Group team led by Mr. Koko Adewale, Head, Energy and Special Risk Department at SA Insurance Plc, the administrator of the Home, Alhaji Hassan Idris Padir, expressed gratitude to the SA Group and the entire staff for their kind gesture towards the less privileged in the society, praying that the Almighty Allah will bless and reward Group abundantly.
While conducting the SA Group team round the different sections of the Home, Alh. Hassan explained that Bab Salam was presently home to 31 children ranging from age 0-18. He took pride in explaining that the children who all attend private primary and secondary schools excel tremendously in Karate and Islamic competitions.
He further explained that the ‘highest number of children that the home had conveniently accommodated at a time was 45, quickly clarifying that ”this was not because we could not take more but because we wanted to give them the best our resources could provide for.”
According to him, “we believe in giving the best to our children here. For us in this Home, we believe that what is good for our own biological children is equally good for our children in the home.”
Mr. Koko Adewale was joined in the courtesy visit by his colleagues, Mr. Saba Lookman (Head, IT Group SA Group), Mr. Biodun Agbabiaka of Technical Department, SA Life, Miss Sefiya Sadik (reigning Miss Insurance and staff of SA Insurance Plc) and Miss Funmilayo Ogunseye of the Group Corporate Communications Department, SA Group.
